Uplift aid reaches 44,000 Bohol beneficiaries as of mid-August
LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu — More than 44,000 households in Bohol had received financial assistance through the national government’s Uplift program as of mid-August, according to the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas (DSWD-7).
The latest distribution covered 12 areas in the province from August 13 to 15, 2026, with thousands of beneficiaries receiving their scheduled assistance.
The agency said the continuing payouts are part of the rollout of Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (Uplift) support for poor and near-poor households affected by the continuing energy crisis.

Bohol payouts
A total of 11,586 beneficiaries received assistance during the three-day distribution, with payouts conducted in Tagbilaran City and different municipalities in Bohol.
The August 13 activities served 4,071 beneficiaries in Mabini, Pilar, and Carmen, while 4,102 beneficiaries received assistance the following day in Tagbilaran City and the municipalities of Anda, Sagbayan, Valencia, and Ubay.

Another 3,413 beneficiaries were served on August 15 in Inabanga, Panglao, Alicia, and Bien Unido towns.
The DSWD-7 Crisis Intervention Section handled the payouts, while agency personnel assisted beneficiaries at the different distribution sites.

DSWD-7 Regional Director Shalaine Marie S. Lucero also went to Panglao for the payout and briefed beneficiaries on the Government-to-Person payment system.
Representatives from GCash and Land Bank of the Philippines helped recipients open accounts needed for the digital release of succeeding payments.
As of August 18, DSWD-7 reported that 44,045 beneficiaries under the program’s Group 2 category had received their Uplift assistance in Bohol.
Who can receive Uplift aid
Group 2 covers poor and near-poor households identified using the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System data from the Philippine Statistics Authority and the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development.
Households must also be outside the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and the DSWD’s Walang Gutom Program to qualify under this category.
Those who qualify will receive P2,000 per month for six months, covering the period from July to December 2026.
The first payment will be released manually, while the succeeding five installments will be transferred through GCash or LandBank.
Beneficiaries must be registered with the Philippine Identification System and have a National ID to receive the succeeding digital payments, the DSWD said.
Other groups covered
Uplift also provides assistance to qualified beneficiaries of the 4Ps and Walang Gutom Program, as well as low-wage workers identified through the Social Security System.
Each group is subject to specific eligibility requirements under the program.
