TEAM 7-ELEVEN Roadbike Philippines’ Marcelo Felipe sealed a third place finish and earned two Cycliste Internationale (UCI) points for the country in the first day of the Tour of Jelajah in Malaysia yesterday.

The Nueva Ecijano standout finished with a time of 3:32:58 behind team Hong Kong’s King Cheung, who also had the same time, and former Tour de France stage winner and Skydive Dubai Pro Cycling Team’s Francisco Mancebo (3:31:55), who finished on top. Cheung won the tie breaker against Marcelo after leading the bonus point tally, 9-4.

The Philippine team also finished third in the team classification. The Philippines now has 266 UCI points, still trailing South Korea’s 276.
