REP. Gwendolyn Garcia of Cebu’s 3rd district is scheduled to be discharged from a Metro Cebu hospital today after figuring in a minor accident last week.

In a press statement yesterday, Garcia’s staffers said she “slipped and fell” but her injury has been treated already.

Cebu Daily News got in touch with lawyer Christina Frasco, Garcia’s daughter, only to be told to refer to the press statement.

In a separate interview, Dumanjug Mayor Nelson Garcia, Gwen’s younger brother, said he had no idea about his sister’s condition.

“Wala ko kahibaw. Wala man tingali (I don’t know. I don’t think she’s confined in a hospital),” he said over the phone.

Garcia’s kin refused to divulge additional details.
