A 23-YEAR-OLD suspect in one of three recent robberies in Bogo City was arrested yesterday in Consolacion town in northern Cebu.

SPO1 Rey Solante of Provincial Intelligence Branch said they arrested Jess Sentillas after a six-hour chase from Barangay Kamputhaw to Barangay Banawa in Cebu City to Consolacion town.

Solante said they traced Sentillas’ whereabouts in a house in Barangay Kamputhaw after witnesses identified him as one of the robbers in the three Bogo heists.

Solante was referring to the Gaisano Superstore in Barangay Carbon robbery last March 19 where robbers fled with at least P114,600 cash; the March 29 Junrex Cellshop robbery in Barangay San Vicente where armed men stole P118,820 worth of assorted cell phones and P16,614 in cash; and the April 24 Inday Store robbery in Barangay Carbon where robbers fled with at least P100,000 cash.

Solante said Sentillas escaped through the window of his relatives’ house in Barangay Kamputhaw when police moved in to arrest him at 5 a.m.

He then hired a habal-habal driver to take him to Banawa, then transferred to another habal-habal vehicle that brought him to Consolacion town.

Solante said Sentillas denied the allegations that he was one of those who robbed the three establishments in Bogo.

But Solante said he eventually admitted being a member of a syndicate, which he claimed to be funded by a Tagalog-speaking man.

“He wants to get out of the syndicate, but he cannot do it because he would be killed,” said Solante in Cebuano.
