The Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) won seven different titles in the 5th ERCO BRO Nationals Football Cup and Festival at the DBTC football field in Punta Princesa, Cebu City.
DBTC topped the boys’ under-16, under-12 division, under-eight division, executive 38-above division, under-nine, under-11 and under-13 division.
The football powerhouse DBTC downed SURE FC, 1-0, to capture the title in the boys’ under-16. DBTC finished with six points in the under-12 division to emerge on top. It also defeated Dipolog Futbol Academy, 4-1, to rule the under-eight division.
DBTC C routed DBTC B, 5-1, to top the under-nine division, then finished with six points in the under-11 division to be named champion. DBTC scored a 2-0 win over Dipolog FC in the under-13 division and topped the 38-above executive division when its DBTC B team won over DBTC A, 1-0.
Meanwhile, the University of Cebu (UC) Nigerians-Shooting Stars FC overwhelmed Aegis FC, 3-1, to capture the coveted men’s open title.
Composed of maritime students from the UC-Maritime Education and Training Center, the players of multi-titled football coach Glenn Ramos dominated the men’s open division that featured around a dozen competitors.
In the ladies open, ERCO FC team A beat ERCO FC Team B, 3-2, to win the crown.
Cebu Amateur Football Club won over Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC), 1-0, to rule the men’s executive 45-above division.
In the other divisions, Giuseppe FC beat DBTC-A, 1-0, to grab the under-seven division title while University of San Carlos-Basic Education (USC-BED) Warriors FC won over DBTC B, 2-0, to top the boys’ under-15 division.
Saint Theresa’s College (STC) dominated two divisions: the girls’ under-15 and the girls’ under-18. STC won over Phoenix Warshockz, 2-0, in the girls’ under-15 and San Roque Football Club (SRFC), 2-1, in the girls under 18 championship matches.
Phoenix Warshockz FC found their winning moment in the under-14 boys division, trouncing DBTC B, 2-1, while Dipolog Futbol Academy defeated DBTC A, 2-1, to rule the under-10 division.
In the boys under-18, Abellana National School (ANS) won over DBTC, 1-0, to emerge as the champions.
