MORE than 50 suspected drug users and pushers surrendered to the Cebu City Police Office at barangay Ermita Friday morning.

These users and pushers were made to sign documents provided by the city police as manifestation of their surrender. The mass surrender is part of the police’s Oplan TokHang (Toktok Hangyo) program.

Chief Insp. Joel Corpuz, officer-in-charge of Station 5 of the Cebu City Police Office, said they have not received yet any illegal substances from them.

He also said some who were not part of the watchlist provided to the police expressed their willingness to stop the continued abuse of illegal drugs.

One of those who voluntarily surrendered was Benjamin Fuentes, an alleged cohort of the late drug lord Rowen “Yawa” Secretaria./UP Cebu Intern Morexette Erram
