The Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) has confirmed that Police Officer 2 Ronjie Nadorra was the protector of arrested drug pusher Neil Enriquez.

But CPPO Director Senior Supt. Clifford Gairanod said Nadorra also disclosed to them the name of another policeman who is also a drug protector.

Gairanod said they wouldn’t reveal yet the name of the policeman since a verification process has to be done first.

He said the process would involve intelligence reports, checking of his connections, verification with his fellow policemen and affidavits from neighbors as well.

Gairanod said Nadorra told them that this policeman is assigned in Toledo City. He added the policeman would also help repack illegal drugs.
Prior to his arrest, Nadorra was already in the police drug watch list.

But Nadorra tested negative for drug use.

Gairanod said Nadorra admitted that the last time he used illegal drugs was last month.

Nadorra, a native of Toledo City but assigned at the Bogo City Police Office in northern Cebu, was in the middle of a shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) inhaling session with two others identified as Richard Flores and Nandy Abella, when Toledo policemen and agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) raided the drug den in Sitio Harag, Barangay Talavera last Saturday at around 9:30 p.m., according to Supt. Samuel Mina Jr., the city’s acting police chief.

Mina said they were actually after Enriquez, an alleged level two drug operator who was also arrested during the raid.

Nadorra was brought to the CPPO headquarters in Sitio Sudlon, Barangay Lahug, Cebu City on Monday morning for questioning before the operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB).

He was later brought to the Toledo City Fiscal’s office for the filing of charges for allegedly coddling and visiting a drug den.

“In our list, he (Nadorra) is a user but further observations revealed that he is involved based on information that there’s a police who will go ahead to ensure safe delivery of drugs,” Gairanod said on Monday.

“Kusog kaayo atong pangampanya (We strengthened our campaign) even before elections since the start of my assumption as OIC (officer-in-charge),” he said.

“After umupo ng bagong presidente at chief PNP, mas malakas na ang loob namin (After the new president and PNP chief assumed office, we were more eager) to go after these criminals,” he said.

Aside from criminal liability, Nadorra will also face administrative charge of grave misconduct. He will also undergo summary proceeding.

But according to National Police Commission in Central Visayas (Napolcom 7) director Homer Cabaral, unlike before, there will be no more hearing and the policeman involved will be asked to submit a position paper.

Cabaral said a policeman who is facing an administrative case will be dismissed from service if found guilty.

Meanwhile, 2,023 policemen at the CPPO headquarters as well as members of the Provincial Public Safety Company and non-uniformed personnel underwent drug testing yesterday morning.

Gairanod said they were also planning to conduct drug testing for police stations in northern Cebu.
