Local stakeholders were urged to contribute more tourism infra following the opening of MCIA T2 to make sure that Cebu continues to be attractive to foreign tourists.
DOT-7 Regional Director, Shalimar Tamano said security and safety also remain the top priority for them.
Tamano said though that it’s expected that Cebu will make it on the list with the continued hard work of stakeholders.
In 2017, DOT recorded around 2 million tourists in Cebu alone. And in 2018, Tamano said things are looking good for Cebu.
Cebu made it to the list of best islands in the world in travel magazine Travel + Leisure.
It’s at 8th place while Palawan is at 6th place. Boracay failed to make the list.
