CCCI now accepts nomination for 2019 Grand Chamber Awards

CEBU CITY, Philippines–The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) is calling for nomination for the 2019 Grand Chamber Awards.

In a statement sent to CDN Digital, Cebu Chamber said the awards recognizes the outstanding entrepreneurs with invaluable contribution to the growth and economic development of Cebu.

Each year, the Cebu Chamber holds the Grand Chamber Awards (GCA) and Fellowship Night. This serves as a culminating activity of the month-long celebration of the Cebu Business Month in June.

During the GCA and Fellowship Night, Cebu Chamber recognizes exemplary Cebuano individuals, entrepreneurs, and families who have contributed excellent performance in their fields of business and applied ethical practices that reflect the ideal example of a Cebuano entrepreneur.

This year, the GCA and Fellowship Night will be held on June 30 at Marco Polo Plaza Cebu. At stake during the Grand Chamber Awards are five categories. These are the Entrepreneur of the Year, Socially Responsible Entrepreneur, Small Business Entrepreneur, Countryside Entrepreneur, and Young Entrepreneur.

The nominees for each category must have the required qualifications.

The Entrepreneur of the Year award recognizes the vital contributions of leaders and catalysts of change that built and sustained excellent businesses for at least ten years in operation as of December 2018. The winner in this category serves as a testament to the significant contribution to Cebu’s vibrant economy.

The Socially Responsible Entrepreneur award recognizes an entrepreneur, that aside from doing business, makes business responsive to the needs of the society.

Sustainability should be embedded into the core of business operations to create a shared value for business and the community. The company must be in the industry for at least five years.

The Small Business Entrepreneur award recognizes a small business with a gross sales which does not exceed to P60M in a year and has demonstrated outstanding accomplishments.

The company must have been in operation for at least three years as of December 2018.

The Countryside Entrepreneur award recognizes an entrepreneur doing business outside Metro Cebu who has demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in his/her own field of business in the area where his business is located.  The company must have been in operation for at least five years as of December 2018.

The Young Entrepreneur award recognizes the entrepreneur, less than 40 years old, who has demonstrated exceptional acumen and outstanding accomplishments in his field of business.  He or she should come from a company that must have been in operation for at least five years as of December 2018.

The nominees must be the owner of manager of a private or a publicly listed company who is primarily responsible for its past and recent performance.

He or she must be an active member of top management for a company that has been in operation for at least five years.

The nominee must also have an integrity in the area of business competition, practiced corporate social responsibility, demonstrated leadership, perseverance in the face of adversity and, lastly, showcased exceptional track record based on the company/business’ current financial performance.

Nominations are open to CCCI members and non-members. Self-nomination is encouraged. The deadline for the submission of nominations will be on May 20, 2019./dcb
