City gov’t owes pharmacy P19.5 million

A PHARMACY owner asked the Cebu City government to pay P19.5 million worth of supplies and medicines which they delivered through the City Hospitalization and Medicines Program (Champ) since 2010.

Dr. Stanley Villacin, general manager of Dominique Pharmaceuticals–Botica sa Masa, said he needed to collect payment so that they can continue operating and  deliver the medicines ordered by City Hall.

Villacin wrote Councilor Margot Osmeña on Sept. 22 to ask her help on his collection claims.

A copy of his “collection letter” was included in the agenda at yesterday’s City Council session. The councilors referred Villacin’s letter to the City Treasurer’s Office, City Legal and to the Champ office.

Processing

The city government’s payables included medicines delivered since 2010 when the Champ was still called  the City Assistance and Medicines Program or Camp.

Of the P19.5 million payables, about P5.3 million were incurred under Camp while the remaining P14.2 million was used under Champ.

“In order for us to continue our operations and extending service to the city, we are asking your honorable committee to assist in facilitating the processing of payments of these said billings which was already submitted last 2010 yet,” said Villacin’s letter.
