By: Apple Ta-as December 09,2014 - 07:26 AM

A retired priest was pushed to a river after he refused to give his money to a tricycle driver who tried to rob him at past 5 p.m. Sunday in barangay Dawis Norte, Carmen town, northern Cebu.

PO3 Jerome Quimque of Carmen police said Rev. Father Nicolas Batucan, 75, reported to the station that he was going  home to Danao City and  took a tricycle in barangay Poblacion, Carmen.

But  the unidentified driver allegedly brought him to sitio Dual-og and  declared hold-up.

The driver demanded for Batucan’s money but he resisted.

This irked the driver.  He pulled the priest out of the tricycle and pushed him to the river.  The driver immediately fled. Batucan sustained bruises.
