PH economy still afire in 2015 but watch out for earth disasters

February 18,2015 - 02:06 PM

The Year of the Goat is symbolized by two elements – Yin wood sitting on top of the earth.

This  signifies that the new lunar year, which begins on Thursday, Feb. 19, will have a lot of arguments but these can end in positive compromises, according to feng shui enthusiast Edgar V. Hao.

He  shared his reading of  the symbols of the Chinese New Year, which is celebrated as the Spring Festival in China.  The calendar is based on the Chinese zodiac which has 12 animal signs.

REAL ESTATE

Wood on top of earth also refers to real estate property.

“This means the year is favorable for real estate investments specially in areas in the north of Cebu and the South Reclamation Project, Talisay city and Minglanilla,” said Hao.

According to Hao, if you are looking to invest in real estate property this year, prices in these areas are likely to grow three times in the next few years.

“This is because the wealth star is in the north and the secondary wealth star in the southwest area that covers SRP, Minglanilla and Talisay,” he said.

Hao  said wood conjures the earth in a destructive cycle resulting in a fighting relationship.

“Normally such conflicting elements means disharmony, so there will be international conflicts and clashes. However, it seems such conflicts may be more easily resolved with compromise and concessions in 2015 as the nature of the Yin wood is a flower, which is easy to adjust directions and more flexible,” said Hao.

Hao, who has been practicing Feng Shui for 15 years, is the president and chief executive officer of Dyno Finance Corporation.

He said, these are just predictions based on elements in the earth. But  two other elements  affect your fortune – Heaven and Man Luck.

“There is God, our higher being, and your luck. Even if the predictions are very bad or good, if you don’t pray and you are lazy, nothing good will still happen,” he said.

ECONOMY STILL AFIRE

The Philippine economy this year is expected to maintain its momentum with the fire element still present.

“In the 2014 Year of the Horse, the fire element continued to fuel the economy and it is obvious that US and Europe are out of the bearish years. In 2015, the momentum of fire-driven optimism will continue so this could be a year that economic activities and the stock market will continue to be very active particularly in spring and summer,” said Hao.

Favored business and industries this year are those in the wood industries which includes textiles, environment, paper and magazines.

“The second best industry could be metal industries including technology, banking, machinery, cars and engineering,” he said.

Fire and earth industries are also positive or those engaged in stocks, finance, energy, power generation and oil and for earth are construction, property, agriculture, chemical and insurance.

“The only unlucky industry this year is the Water industry or those in the shipping, fishing, airlines, travel, clothing and import and export,” he said.

INTERNATIONAL SCENE

Hao said that during the hot summer, the fire energy is still very powerful and with the goat also considered the grave of wood elements and dry dessert earth, another Gulf war  may break out in 2015.

“The last two Gulf wars in the desserts of Middle East started in 1991 and 2003. Both are years of the goat. With the looming threat of ISIS in Iraq and Syria, it will not be surprising for another Gulf war to happen this year,” he said.

ENVIRONMENT

The wood will be very dry and unhealthy.  Wood symbolize trees and the environment, so the wood sheep year may bring more serious environmental disaster such as forest fires, serious air and sea pollution and oil leakage.

“For those born in the Year of the Ox, they are prone to road accidents as well as stomach and cancer problems this year as goat and ox are animals clash with each other,” said Jao.

With 2015 under the “Age of 8” in the Chinese calendar, there will be more disasters and misfortunes affecting children as 8 represents young children.

“The very powerful earth energy of the Goat will also bring earth disasters like earthquakes, landslides, avalanches, the collapse of buildings,” he said.

He recalled that the devastating 2011 earthquake in Japan occurred on the day of the Ox and hour of the Goat.

HEALTH

The yin wood sitting on goat is characterized as weak.  Dry wood symbolizes  liver ailments and problems affecting the neck, back, spinal cord and small bones such as those in the fingers and toes.

“The strong earth conquers water and weakens the immune system. As water is very weak, we should also focus on kidney and immune system,” said Jao.
Other sicknesses to watch out for are  cancer, diabetes and obesity.
