THE South Road Properties (SRP) tunnel had been reopened hours after an Elf truck caught on fire while passing through it Wednesday morning.

Buboy Lagahit, radio operator of the Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO), said the truck was passing through the southbound lane when it caught fire at 10:55 a.m.

CCTO closed the tunnel to vehicular traffic while firefighters doused the flames on the truck.

Traffic personnel towed the truck away from the tunnel.

Lagahit said the truck was carrying oxygen tanks. No one was hurt.
