One killed, two nabbed in Mandaue drug bust
One died while two people were arrested in a drug bust operation in Upper Tawason, Mandaue City at past 4 a.m. Thursday.
Police said Em-Em Solon, a resident of the area, sustained several gunshot wounds inflicted by the police after he reportedly tried to shoot them with a shotgun inside his shanty.
Solon came out after Jacqueline Bacus, a target of the operation along with her common law partner Crescenciano Herano, shouted for help on sensing the police’s presence during the aborted drug bust.
Herano escaped during the commotion but police managed to arrest Bacus and Herano’s buyer identified as Buenaventura Bargamento Jr. Aside from the shotgun, police recovered two magazines of one .45 pistol.
