Look up at the skies starting 8 p.m. tonight for a battle of the best Sinulog fireworks.

Teams from Metro Manila will compete with Avila Fireworks of Lapu-Lapu City, last year’s second place winner in the Sinulog Fireworks Competition.

The challengers are Flash Fireworks from Valenzuela City; Lebrilla Fireworks from Cabuyao, Laguna; Emperor Fireworks from Batangas City; Golden J Fireworks from Bulacan and Pyroheaven also from Bulacan.

Each team has four minutes to show their glorious pyrotechnics in front of SM-City Cebu’s Northwing.

To cap the event, Brian Lim of Pyroworks Internaional Inc. said he will blast off a “pyromusical” show to the tune of “What did the fox say” by Ylvis.

On Sinulog Sunday, Cebu City spectators will get a choice of four fireworks shows.

Outside SM, Pyroworks will have a 15-minute sky show synchronized to DJs and songs from Rihanna, Calvin Harris, Bruno Mars and more at 9 p.m.

If you’re near Ayala, the mall is bringing in Symphony of Fire Grand Fireworks Display by Dragon Fireworks, also starting at 9 p.m.

At the Cebu City Sports Complex, the grand finale of the parade will end with a fireworks display at 7 pm.

By 12 midnight more fireworks will blast at the South Reclamation Project capping a series of 10 live bands from Manila who start performing at 5 p.m.
