A NEW 9-story building is expected to become a ‘start-up hub’ for the Engineering students of University of Cebu for the next school year.
The 3,000 square meter area located along J. Alcantara St. in Cebu City will house the ideas of the Engineering students and turn them into reality, according to Mr. Agustu Go, the President of the University of Cebu.
The P170 million investment will have at least 60 classrooms and 19 laboratories that is expected to carry 4,000 students.
Go said he wanted the place to be an incubator for young minds. He wanted the students to keep thinking ideas that would help the community.
Early this year the University has joined a national start-up competition and won the P40,000 cash prize.
The new School of Engineering building is expected to be completed by April 2017.
All Engineering students are to move next school year except for Marine Engineering students who are staying at the University of Cebu Marine Education and Training Center (UC METC) and University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu (UCLM). /Nova Manaya
