Mandaue fire damage placed at P150K

Fire investigators placed at P150,000 the damage wrought by the fire that hit Sitio Nawanaw, Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City earlier today, the city’s top fire official said.

City Fire Marshall Joel Abarquez said the initial investigation conducted by the Mandaue City Fire Department showed that the blaze was believed to have originated from an upholstery shop owned by Junie Abrea.

Sparks from an ongoing welding works at Abrea’s shop triggered the fire, which went on to spread to an adjacent surplus shop owned by Franklin Olair.

The fire alarm was received at 9:45 a.m. and was controled at 10:17 a.m.

There were no reported injuries.
