DORMAKABA remained untouchable as it racked up its sixth win in a row with a 78–48 demolition job of Fenestram in the Architects + Engineers Basketball Association Corporate Cup last Sunday at the Cebu Eastern College gym.
Even without one-time MVP Ed Macasling and six-foot-four sentinel Jordan Alano, Dormakaba still manhandled its opponents behind a balanced attack that had five players score in double figures led by the 14 of big man Jessie Paradero.
Guards Eric Pummer and Neil Rosell had 13 each while forward Niel Benedicto nearly had another double-double with 11 markers and nine rebounds.
Fenestram dropped its fifth game in six outings so far.
In other games, Phoenix shocked Davies Paints, 93–75, as Alexander Vidal exploded for 24 points spiked by six three-pointers.
Paul Besinga punched in 15 while Samboi Parcon had 13 points and nine boards to give Phoenix its second win in this tournament while dropping Davies to 4-2 (win-loss).
Sea Olympus also outlasted Megabond, 78–74 in overtime to even up its win-loss record to 3-3.
Ayi Armenion had 21 points and 14 rebounds while Justin Aspacio had 21 of his own to help Sea Olympus snatch the thrilling victory. Megabond fell to a tie with Phoenix at 2-4.
