AFTER rising to fame for his offbeat role as Ali in the Kapamilya series “Till I Met You,” actor JC Santos is set to make his debut in the mainstream film industry with a 2017 Star Cinema horror movie with Kim Chiu.
In a Push report last Thursday, JC announced that he will be doing a horror film that will be directed by the legendary Chito S. Roño.
“First time ko pong magtatrabaho ng mainstream cinema at first time kong makakatrabaho sina Direk Chito at Kim, kaya sobrang excited ako,” he said.
According to JC, he already met director Chito, who personally offered him the role as the third party to Kim’s and an undisclosed love team partner in the horror film.
“I trust you with the character, alam ko bilang galing ka sa theater na magtutulungan tayo.’ And that’s very exciting for me kasi ako, diyusko, makahawak lang ako ng script tuwang-tuwa na ako, eh. Award na ‘yon sa akin…alam mo ‘yon?” he said.
JC made his mark on primetime TV for his role as the third wheel in the James Reid-Nadine Lustre romance during the first few months of the TV series “Till I Met You,” which had its finale last Friday.
He stars in the indie film, “Sakaling Hindi Makarating” with Alessandra de Rossi and Pepe Herrera. Directed by Ice Idanan, the movie will be shown starting February 1.
