LOVE POTION

After an interview, the reporters and a high-ranking police official were having a chitchat about how peaceful Siquijor is.

One reporter shared that she has recently been to Siquijor and joked that she bought a love potion.

The official too shared that he received a love potion as a gift.

“Diba ipapahid yan sa kamay mo tapos kakamayan mo yung nagustuhan mo. Problema ko puro lalaki naman ang nakikipagkamay sa akin (Aren’t you supposed to rub the potion into your hands and then shake the hand of the one you like? My problem is that all those who shake my hand are men),” the official said, laughing.

OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF BABES

Many residents of Sitio Libon, Barangay Guinsay in Danao City witnessed Tuesday’s shootout between three drug suspects and the police.

A six-year-old boy who saw the actual exchange of gunfire between the drug suspects and members of the Danao City Police remarked: “Naunsa naman ang mga tawo oy (What is happening to people)?”

A taxi driver was using a phone application to lead him to his passenger’s destination.

When his passenger asked him what the app was because it looked “cool,” the driver joked: “Ako ning asawa sige’g tudlo nako sa dalan (That’s my wife always pointing the road).”
