DPWH claimed its seventh straight victory after defeating VSMMC, 76-57, in the Urban Basketball League – ASPA Cup 2017 last weekend at the City Sports Club Cebu basketball court.
Chris Sorono showcased his versatility by piling up 14 points, four assists and three steals to help DPWH hike its unbeaten record to 7-0 and drop VSMMC to an even 4-4.
Vernon Santos had 16 points and 17 rebounds in the VSMMC’s losing cause.
In the other match, MDC creamed Stay Fit, 81-66, as Jome Candar exploded for 21 points and 21 rebounds. The win was a crucial one for MDC as it tied VSMMC in the standings with the playoffs looming on the horizon.
RJ Mangubat had 22 points but it wasn’t enough to stop Stay Fit from suffering its third loss in nine outings.
