GENEDA Arcuino and Kenyan Joseph Mururi ruled the 10-kilometer races of the annual Summer Fun Run: A Family Run last Sunday at the Cebu Business Park in Cebu City.
Arcuino finished the women’s 10k race in 44 minutes and six seconds, beating Lovely Andrin and Jona Dela Torre, who clocked in 45:35 and 47:34, respectively.
Mururi, meanwhile, dominated the men’s 10k race at 33:13, edging Prince Joey Lee, who ranked second at 34:25 and Joseph Arnel Emia, who wound up third at 34:45.
In the 5k race, Lovely’s younger sister Cherry dominated the distaff side by crossing the finish line in 19:59. Riza Bausa finished second at 20:29. while Melody Perez came in third at 20:46.
Another Kenyan runner Eric Chepsiror topped the 5k men’s side at 15:22 while Roel Alcopera finished second with a time of 16:47 followed by Rafael Pescos at 17:19.
Mary Joy Loberanis topped the girls 3k race at 12:25, winning over junior triathlete Moira Frances Erediano, who settled for second place at 12:57. Jessel Ochia timed 13:27 to finish third.
Ronilo Gabilan grabbed the top spot in the 3k male’s division at 11:03 with Ram Del Corro finishing second at 11:17 and Albert Cod claiming the third spot at 11:26.
Around 800 runners took part in the event organized by Coco Running Team headed by veteran race director Joel Juarez.
The proceeds of the run will be used for the feeding program and for buying school supplies for less fortunate children in their chosen barangay in Cebu City.
