GINATILAN forged a four-way tie at the top in the South Division Bracket 2 after it rallied past Boljoon, 72-71, in the 2017 Cebu Governor’s Cup 21-Under Inter-Cities/Municipalities Basketball Tournament at the Boljoon Municipal Gym, south Cebu last Sunday night.

Boljoon looked headed to grabbing the solo lead in the team standings after posting a 71-67 lead entering the final minute of the contest.

Boljoon, however, suffered a huge collapse in the dying seconds, while Hanzel Tagoon took over for Ginatilan by scoring the game’s last five points, including the go-ahead layup with 11 seconds left.

With Ginatilan ahead, 72-71, Tagoon himself sealed the win for his team when he came up with a huge steal in Boljoon’s crucial possession.

Tagoon led the way for Ginatilan with a game-high 35 points and got needed support from Junrell Oracoy and Roland Tagoon, who each added 12 markers.

John Vic Olores paced Boljoon with 18 points.

Ginatilan, Boljoon, Samboan and Dalaguete now all sport 2-1 (win-loss) records.

In the other game, Alcoy earned a piece of second spot after it dumped Santander, 89-75.

Renly de Leon showed the way for Alcoy with 33 points, while Marvin Marzon and Romelito Gesulga added 20 and 16, respectively.
Teotino Omaña Jr. spearheaded Santander with 20 points.

Alcoy tied Oslob at 2-2, while Santander continued to sputter as it absorbed its third loss in as many games.
