RIDERS numbering to around 400 completed a 200-kilometer route from the Bellevue Resort on Panglao Island to Guindulman, Bohol and vice versa in the first day ride of the Giro d’ Luca 2017 yesterday.
One of the organizers, Dr. Reel Bontol, said the 200-kilometer ride treated participants with a scenic route that was flat.
“We are very happy of the first day results because a lot of people here in Bohol noticed the event and they were also happy to see the riders. We had minimal accidents, which we controlled right away. Overall, the first day is very successful,” said Bontol.
The three-day cycling event will cover a total of 500 kilometers.
For today’s ride, Bontol said they will cover a total of 140 kilometers through Carmen, Bohol’s scenic route that includes the iconic Chocolate Hills.
Although the route is relatively short, the challenge will be still be tough.
“The riders will surely be challenged with the uphill route for today’s ride but they will get rewarded with the scenic view of the Chocolate Hills.”
