LAPU-LAPU City bodybuilder Remigio Villamor Jr. won the Mr. Novice title in the 6th Phil-Asia Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships last Saturday at the JSU- PSU Mariners’ Court along Legaspi Extension corner Quezon Boulevard in Pier 1, Cebu City.

Villamor said the road to the crown wasn’t easy, but it was all worth it as he now earned the right to represent the country in the Mr. World championships to be held next year still in Cebu.

“You need to discipline yourself to be a champion,” the 40-year-old Villamor said regarding his preparation for the competition. “You have to sleep early. Your workout must also be continuous. And of course, [you need to have] the right nutrition.”

Meanwhile, Makati’s John Rey Arado and Leigh Guda took home the Masters 40-years and above and the Mr. Fitness titles, respectively.

Two Koreans also won with So Yeun Kim securing the Ms. Shape 30-years and above crown and Hye Yeong Jan bagging the Ms. Shape 30-years and below title.

Other winners were Zamboanga’s Richard Guerrero (Juniors) and John Benjamin of Taguig City (Athletics Short Division).
