FORMER House Speaker Jose de Venecia and his wife Pangasinan Rep. Gina de Venecia along with former Deputy Speaker Antonio Cuenco and his wife, former congresswoman Nancy Cuenco visited the wake of Cardinal Vidal at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral Monday afternnon.
De Venecia told reporters that he and his wife paid their respects to the cardinal whom he considered a close friend and a spiritual advisor during his tenure.
De Venecia said Vidal was a guiding light during the 1986 People”s Power Revolution. “It will take a hundred years before we will have another Cardinal Vidal, ” de Venecia said.b
Cuenco said de Venecia’s visit showed that Vidal was loved not only by the Cebuano faithful but every Filipino Catholic in the country.
