MINGLANILLA snatched their second win in three tries with a 96-86 win over Naga in the 2nd Samsam Gullas Cup 2017 on Friday night at the San Fernando Sports Complex.
In a tournament made for 20-under cagers, 15-year-old University of the Visayas standout Steve Nash Enriquez was in a class of his own as he dominated his much older opponents and lit them up for a whopping 37 points on top of four rebounds and five assists.
Naga, though, bounced back the next day, beating the defending champions Talisay City, 100-91.
Keith Visayas put up all around numbers of 27 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block to help Naga even up their record at 2-2 (win-loss).
Talisay is also at 2-2 after winning over Sibonga, 81-74.
Aaron Bucao led the team to the win in that match with his 18-point outing.
Carcar (1-2) was also victorious after beating San Fernando (2-2), 79-69.
Eddie Villagracia had 19 points, two boards, seven assists, two steals and a blocked shot to power Carcar to its first win of the tournament.
In another game, San Fernando (2-2) routed Sibonga (2-2), 82-62.
