THE Green Rose Center for Academe Inc. (GRCA) staged its GRCA Slumber Party: The Disney Show last Saturday inside their school premises in Barangay Estaca, Compostela town, northern Cebu.

Faculty members opened the show with a dance number.
Presentations by students from preschool until junior high then followed as they portrayed movie excerpts from Walt Disney films such as Moana (Grade 4), Pocahontas (Grade 5), Snow White (Grade 6) and Sleeping Beauty (Grade 7).

The nursery class danced to the tune of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse’s “Hot Dog Dance.”

The Kinder-A class performed Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off,” the movie soundtrack of 2016 animated film “Sing.” Kinder-B had their rendition of Trolls soundtrack “Can’t Stop The Feeling.”

The Prep-A pupils performed Rio soundtrack “I Wanna Party,” while Prep-B had “Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted” soundtrack “Fireworks.”

The show also had the appearance of Danao City’s Danielle Mae Ozaraga, one of the country’s representatives in the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) held in Long Beach, California, USA last July 2015, as she sang her own rendition of Frozen hit song “Let It Go.”

Meanwhile, models from OZAR Models Philippines also went on stage as Disney princesses with Binibining Dalaguete Lou Dominique Piczon as Pocahontas, Binibining Catmon Trixie Ann Medalla as Princess and the Frog’s Princess Tiana, Sofia Caryl Cababat as Rapunzel, Mary Cienne Abella as Snow White and Alannie Padriga as Mulan.

Gleford Misoles and Wendchel Caseñas portrayed Aladdin and Jasmine as they sang “A Whole New World.”

According to school directress Dr. Maria Greenville Solon, the annual National Children’s Month celebration aimed “to show appreciation to our children so that they would feel special and honored.”

“We chose such theme because it’s the happiest place on earth. However, it’s too expensive to go there. That’s why we will give them the Disney experience here,” added Solon.

Solon also hinted that for next year’s celebration, they might feature a Legoland-themed slumber party.
