THE San Roque Football Club (SRFC) solidified its hold of the top spot in the U11 category after adding nine points yesterday for a total of 24 points at the resumption of the Grassroots Football League (GFL) at the Benthel Asia School of Technology in Lapu-Lapu City.

SRFC got nine points after winning all three of its assignments yesterday. The team started out by blanking Centre for International Education (CIE), 3-0, then routing Singapore School, 4-1, before blanking Balamban FC (BFC), 5-0.

Singapore School managed to stay in second spot by winning two of its games, 4-3, versus BFC and 6-1 against Samanthabhadra.

Other matches saw Giuseppe FC beating Samanthabadra, 3-2, and drawing with host school Benthel Asia, 1-all.

Benthel Asia crushed the University of San Jose Recoletos (USJ-R), 6-2, while the latter battered CIE, 3-0.

CIE was winless for the day after also losing to Balamban, 3-0.

In the U9 category, BFC-USJ-R, Samanthabadra and Singapore School all scored emphatic victories.
BFC-USJR demolished Benthel, 6-1, Samanthabadra outsmarted USJ-R, 5-2, while Singapore School survived USJ-R, 2-1.

In the U7 action, SRFC finally barged into the win column with a 3-0 blanking of Singapore School. The latter was not so lucky as it also received a 10-3 bashing from BFC-USJR.
