10 passengers injured in road mishap in Barili
Police authorities recorded 10 passengers who sustained major and minor injuries on Sunday evening after the mini-bus carrying them fell off a cliff in Barangay Sayaw, Barili town, Cebu, approximately 67 kilometers from Cebu City.
Jenifer Mahigsasa, 38, drove the mini-bus which was bound for Dumanjug, Cebu, a neighboring town of Barili.
Initial police investigation showed that the driver lost its control as it reached a curved road due to a mechanical malfunction.
The passengers were identified as Mauro Ybanez, 51, Analyn Zamora, 21, and her daughter Jaylyn Aguilar, 2, all from from Dumanjug; Elmer Uraga, 42, Maria Fe Delumbar, 55, and Jay-ann Ofqueria, 17 from Barili; Jovie Temblor, 45, Jonard Gomez, of legal age, and Rommel Bisario, 25, from Negros Oriental; and Robinson Campo, 41, from Tabunok, Talisay City.
The said vehicle is operated by Chan Transit.
Manigsasa is now detained at the jail facility of Barili Police pending the filing of charges against him.
