Police to double efforts on monitoring gangs

Chief Insp. Mercy Villaro, information officer of Mandaue City Police Office, said that they will double their effort to monitor the gang activities in the city following the death of a minor who was involved in a shooting incident in Sitio-Liog past 3 a.m. on Monday, March 9.

Villaro said they are now conducting patrols in the city, but said that the gangsters are constantly monitoring the police activities before going out to the street.

“Magbutang unya mi og civilian clotes personnel nga magpatrolya sa mga interior portion sa barangay panahon sa kagabhi-on hangtud kadlawun, said Villacampa. (We will assign civilian clothes personnel to patrol in the interior portions of the barangay during night time until dawn)

The personnel of Mandaue City Police Office is now observing other five gangs within their jurisdiction.

Villaro also urged the parents of the minors, who are involved in gangs, not to give the responsibility to the government officials or police, but instead urges parents to educate their children regarding the matter.
