Giuseppe Football Club starts teaching for new season
DEDICATED to continue introducing and promoting football, the Giuseppe Football Club (GFC) opened its 2018-2019 season yesterday at its home turf, Campo GFC, in Banilad, Cebu City.
The new season will have daily training for boys and girls in Under 7, U9, U11, U13 and U15 from Monday to Friday, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
The GFC was formed in November 2005 and aside from honing the skills of children, the club also aims to improve the lives of underprivileged children by giving them opportunities for a better future through football via its outreach program.
For the new season, GFC founders Mylene Suarez and Rachel Genco have hired new coaches in Jun Taneo and JR Castillano.
Taneo is the head coach of the University of Cebu collegiate football team while Castillano is one of the outstanding players that Cebu has produced.
“We’re hopeful of finding new talents for the new season as GFC has always been committed to helping improve the lives of children by giving them a sport and training them to get good enough to be chosen for scholarships and national teams,” said Genco.
GFC also looks after its coaches by sending them to seminars and licensing courses, all paid for by the club.
Hayato Ayabe, the former coach of the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu, has also joined GFC for the new season as a volunteer coach.
Ayabe has coached the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA) secondary football team to a quarterfinal finish in the 2015 Palarong Pambansa held in Tagum, Davao del Norte.
The new coaches are in addition to GFC’s regular junior coaches in Cloyd Kevin Abare and Prime Agang.
In July, GFC’s Italian football director Nicolo Ferrante will be coming for the club’s assessment. He’s been adding Italian football style to GFC’s training.
Those interested to train with GFC can call Rufina at cell no. 0917-624-3129 or Nezel at 0932-350-7558.
