New LTO car license plates ready for release in July
THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) announced on Wednesday that it has started to ship license plates for vehicles registered from July to October 2016.
License plates for vehicles covered by the said registration dates would be released by the first week of July, the LTO said.
“The LTO will release the available vehicle plates simultaneously nationwide by first week of July,” LTO Asec. Edgar Galvante said in a statement.
“The LTO will notify the vehicle owners on the dates they may claim their plates. We ask our clients to wait for their notification so they do not waste their time going to the LTO office only to be disappointed,” Galvante said.
As of June 18, the LTO has produced a total of 387,000 pieces of vehicle plates in its Plate Making Facility located in Quezon City.
However, as for the production of motorcycle license plates, Galvante said that it is still pending subject to the approval of the bill on the proposed different-sized license plate.
