UNHAPPY with the absence of policemen patrolling downtown Cebu City, Senior Supt. Royina Garma has ordered the head of the Parian Police Station that has jurisdiction of the area, relieved from his post.

Senior Insp. Ceasar Acompañado was told to report to the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) starting on Friday.

He was replaced by Chief Insp. Kenneth Paul Albotra.

Garma found during a surprise inspection on Thursday night the absence of police personnel to secure hundreds of people who crowd Colon Street at nighttime.

Garma who assumed her post only on Monday said that she stayed in the area for 30 minutes and never saw any policemen patrolling the vicinity.

Acompañado said in a separate interview that he was roving downtown Cebu City earlier on Thursday. He just returned to their police station when Garma also visited the area for a surprise inspection.
