A total of 185 employers, human resource officers, and company representatives, including uniformed personnel and employees of the local government units all over Negros Oriental attended a free advocacy seminar of the Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) held in Dumaguete City recently, the first such advocacy activity in the province. Program partners from the Department of Labor and Employment, National Conciliation and Mediation Board, Government Service Insurance System, and Social Security System were also present at the seminar.
“This is the first leg of the ECC’s nationwide advocacy campaign to raise awareness on the Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP),” said ECC Deputy Executive Director Jonathan Targa Villasoto who led ECC officials in the activity.
Seminar participants, especially the personnel of local government units, expressed their appreciation and gratitude for the ECC’s visit in their province and offered to sponsor a follow-up activity at their expense.
Prior to the seminar, the ECC held a press conference in cooperation with the Philippine Information Agency Media outfits. in Dumaguete City attended the
press conference.
Villasoto thanked the people of Negros Oriental for their warm welcome and participation in the event.
