THE UNIVERSITY of Cebu (UC) – Main and Abellana National School (ANS) racked up wins in the opening day of the Philippine Taekwondo League (PTL) – Cebu last Sunday at SM City Consolacion.
UC-Main downed the University of Visayas (UV) Green Lancers in the senior men’s action, 148-58, to go up 1-0 in the team-style event.
UC-Main also proved too much against St. Alphonsus Catholic School (SACS) as they bombarded them in the junior boy’s competition, 104-62.
But it was not a clean slate for the UC-Main team in the day as they lost to Toledo’s Leaton School, 87-37, in the junior girl’s event.
ANS logged two wins by beating the Leaton School in the cadet boy’s category, 130-115, and tripping City of Bogo Science and Arts Academy in the same category, 121-23.
The University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) seniors women’s team, meanwhile, escaped the UC-Lapu-Lapu/Manadue jins, 43-41.
The next PTL games will be this Aug. 26 at SM Seaside City Cebu.
