Ten persons pleaded guilty before different Cebu courts for engaging in illegal trading and distribution of LPG-filled butane canisters. They were ordered to pay a fine of P20,000 each.

Convicted persons are either ordered to pay a fine of at least P20,000 or serve at least 2 years in prison.

Department of Enegry (DOE) legal officer Russ Mark Gamallo said the convictions should serve as a stern warning for the people not to engage in illegal petroleum trading.

Since June 2018, at least 25 persons have already been convicted for distribution of LPG-filled butane.
