Senate to summon actor Matt Ranillo over ‘pork’ scam

MANILA, Philippines – The Senate blue ribbon committee will summon actor Matt Ranillo and other personalities to its next hearing on the P10 billion “pork barrel” scam.

Aside from Ranillo, the committee, acting on Senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes III’s motion, also directed on Thursday the issuance of subpoenas to a certain Justa Tantoco, lawyer Jesse Santos, and Energy Regulatory Commission Zenaida Cruz-Ducut.

Ranillo, Tantoco and Santos were all mentioned in the affidavit of accused-turned-state witness Ruby Tuason as among those involved in the scam.

Cruz-Ducut, on the other hand, allegedly demanded a five-percent kickback for every “pork barrel” project she delivered to her Janet Lim-Napoles, the alleged mastermind of the scam.
