IN keeping with the tradition of the Gorordo family in Parian, the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) will once again present the “Sinug sa Casa Gorordo” on Monday at 2 p.m.
House traditions of the Gorordo family, including the Sinug, continue to be observed at the museum as part of RAFI’s pledge to preserve local heritage.
The Sinug sa Casa Gorordo will be held in front of the RAFI Eduardo Aboitiz Development Studies Center along Lopez Jaena Street in Parian as the nearby Casa Gorordo Museum, where the activity is supposed to be conducted, is closed due to renovations.
The Sinug dance will be performed by the Turang Dance Troupe led by Carolina Diola and her son Rommel Borja from barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.
Carolina and Rommel took charge of the group after the death of their aunt and Sinug “beat keeper” Estelita ‘Nang Titang’ Diola in March 2013 at age 88.
