This holiday season, Parkmall launched its first Parol Festival last November 24, 2018 with a splendid show of Cebuano talents and the lighting of its Christmas tree centerpiece at the Piazza Rotunda, together with the Marketing manager of Parkmall, the Mandaue councilors and the BJMP officers.

At 6pm, the rondalia performers from the Sister’s of Mary School of Boystown graced the ceremony with their talents which was then followed by Parkmall’s marketing manager’s speech as he extended his gratitude to the team with Mandaue city councilors and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) officers. He also explained the story behind the 2000 beautiful lanterns which were created by the inmates from BJMP.

Guests were also serenaded by The Top Performers of UP Cebu Seranata wherein the music synced with the fireworks beautifully.

The Parkmall’s Parol Festival is proudly comprised of Cebuano-made products. The mall’s festive decorations are enhanced with parols which were made by the persons deprived of liberty (PDL) from the BJMP in Mandaue. This allowed the PDLs to provide financial aid for their families as well as build their self-esteem and confidence.

If you think about Christmas,  it’s about love and family but for Parkmall, Christmas is about hope – hope for the inmates to look forward for their future.

According to BJMP representative,  not only in Parkmall one can avail the parols but also in the city jail of Mandaue.
