CBAA Flashback: USC ties SIT at the top

The University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors racked up yet another win as they beat the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars, 87-77, in the 40-47 division of the CBAA Flashback II last weekend at the Cebu Coliseum.

The win pushed USC to the top of the standings right beside the Salazar Institute of Technology (SIT) Skyblazers at 4-1 (win-loss).

James Relampagos continued his dominant play in the tournament as he scorched USJ-R’s defense for a whopping 31 points.

Jaizon Estella and Sigmund Cabrera also played key roles in the victory as they each had 14 markers.

Left-handed big man Bong Eleazar submitted 13 points.

Rannie Abo paced USJ-R with 27 points while Leode Garcia added 17.

The league is being supported by shipping magnate Chester Cokaliong and Family Appliance and is being led by commissioner Jun Montalbo.
