Cebu City, Philippines — The Cebu City Health Department together with Cebu City councilor Mary Ann delos Santos launched the new Dental Mobile Health Van at the Plaza Sugbo early Monday morning, March 25, 2019.

The van, donated by the Department of Health, is expected to deliver services down to the barangays.

“Instead of people going to the city health, we are bringing the government services to barangay levels. It is more accessible, especially to far barangays and depressed areas, “ said Delos Santos, the chairman on committee on health.

The van gets to serve its purpose right away as it is slated to serve its first stop on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 in Barangay Day-as.

The van features two dental chairs and is capable of delivering tooth filling and extraction services.

“I can remember 10 years ago, we had a dental van in the city but it’s already worn out, it can’t be used anymore. So now we have  one,” Delos Santos said.

Delos Santos added that they are asking for two more  dental vans that can cater the North and South Districts of Cebu City. /bmjo
