Truck in Archival slay ‘visited’ a carwash shop
Police yesterday released the facial composites of the two men believed to have participated in the killing of prominent lawyer Noel Archival and his two companions two weeks ago.
Supt. Rodolfo Albotra Jr., chief of Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) said the facial composites were based on the description given by attendants of a carwash shop where one of the cars involved in the daring daytime ambush in Dalaguete town in southern Cebu was taken for cleaning.
A silver pick-up truck with three men on board visited the carwash shop a day after the ambush.
Albotra said that three men remained inside the vehicle while the car was being cleaned. The car wash attendants told investigators that among the objects they found inside the truck were empty shells of M-16 bullets.
“We cannot conclude yet if this is really related to the crime, but its worth the try,” Albotra said.
Based on the account of the witness the man seated on the driver’s seat was described to be about 37-years-old medium built with fair complexion. He was reportedly wearing a bullcap and shades with earrings on his left ear and a mole on his left face. He also had a birthmark on his right arm with a decayed front tooth.
The second man, seated on the front’s passenger seat, reportedly had long hair, bulgy eyes with whiskers. He was about on his 30’s with a stocky built.
The third who was seated on the backseat was not recognized by the boy since he covered his face.
But, Albotra said the empty shells have already been thrown.
He added that the ballistic examination done by the PNP Crime Laboratory have not been completed yet. Archival along with Edu Minoza and Alejandro Jayme died on the spot while Paolo Cortes sustained gunshot wounds on his arms and survived.
