Governor’s Cup basketball: Cordova pulls off another upset, beats Consolacion
Cebu City, Philippines — Cordova is once again up to its giant-killing ways as it handed the Consolacion Sarok Weavers their first loss of the tournament with a 105-94 win in 6th District action in the 2019 Governor’s Cup basketball tournament on Friday night, March 29, 2019, at the Cordova Municipal Gym.
Cordova improved to 2-2 (win-loss) while Consolacion dropped to 2-1 in this competition.
Cordova also beat the highly touted Mandaue team earlier in the season.
Meanwhile, in the crossover games in the 7th District, Alegria manhandled Moalboal by a whopping 57 points, 112-55, to set up a showdown with Dumanjug, which dropped Malabuyoc, 97-73.
Elsewhere, Tabuelan stunned the previously unbeaten Madridejos, 99-81, while Bogo City gained a share of first place with a 79-76 win over San Remigio.
Madridejos and Bogo City now own identical 4-1 card while Medellin grabbed solo second place with a 95-68 win — their third in four games — over Tabogon. /bmjo
