Grander activities expected for this year’s Mandaue City fiesta celebration

Mandaue City, Cebu — The Mandaue City Government is allocating P14.6 million for the Mid-year Cultural Summit 2019.

Mandaue City Treasurer Regal Oliva announced this during a press conference held at the Session Hall of Mandaue City Hall on Monday, April 1, 2019. 

“This (budget) is higher compared last year to afford grander activities as Mandaue City celebrates its 50th year,” Oliva said.

Last 2018, the city allocated P12 million budget for the fiesta activities. 

The Mid-Year Cultural Summit 2019 is scheduled every first week of May in line with Mandaue City’s fiesta celebration on May 8.

This year’s theme is “A Tribute To Gold,” which marks Mandaue City’s 50th year. 

Among the fiesta activities this year are launching of food park, gold olympics, Sotero Cabahug Day, Raid Your Golden Closet: A Flea Market, GOLDogathon, Palengke de ORO Queen, A Blast from the Golden Past: Seniors Citizen Night, Deped Night – The Gold Edition, Zumba for Gold, Miss Mandaue 2019, Miss Gay Jurassic – The Golden Era, The Golden Voice of Mandaue, The Golden Empress – The Mandaue Gay Pageant 2019, Golden Blast – Battle of the Bands, Dance for Gold – Dance Showdown, Bayle sa Plaza, and BULAWAN: Bisaya Music Festival. /bmjo
