CEBU City Mayor Michael Rama asked the City Council to allocate P85 million as supplemental budget 1 to finance the construction of a new Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) and settle the leave credits claims of hospital employees.

Councilor Margot Osmeña, who chairs the City Council budget committee, said P65 million is needed for the CCMC construction project while the remaining P20 million will be spent to pay for the leave credits and payment of past payables.

The budget committee met with Acting City treasurer Diwa Cuevas and Jose Daluz III, Rama’s executive assistant, to discuss SB1 last Tuesday.

In their meeting, Cuevas identified continuing appropriations from 2009 to the present as a  source for the proposed SB1 which Daluz promised to present to the council next week.
