Cebu City, Philippines — Cebuanos should expect a cloudy day on Wednesday due to the easterlies, according to state weather bureau chief Al Quiblat Jr.

According to Quiblat, the rains for the past days have been caused by the easterly trade winds. He added that this is expected to affect the weather system in Cebu until Thursday.

“Ang dominant nga weather system (as of now) is ang easterlies. Ang easterlies man gud pwede’g init nga panahon, pwede sad og pag ulan,” Quiblat explained through a phone interview with Cebu Daily News Digital.

The weather is expected to improve on Friday.

Meanwhile, the temperature over Cebu today will range from 25 to 31 degrees Celsius, with isolated rain showers expected throughout the day.

Quiblat said that the rain in the past days is still not enough to replace the month long deficit of rain in the island because of the dry spell.

The long drought is expected to last until June.

The bureau chief advises the public to use this opportunity to collect rain water in the following days. /bmjo
