Mayoral aspirants among early voters in San Fernando
SAN FERNANDO, Cebu — The two candidates for mayor in San Fernando town, south of Cebu, were among the first individuals to cast their votes in their respective polling places on Monday, May 13.
Incumbent Mayor Lakambini “Neneth” Reluya arrived at precinct number 90A in Panadtaran Elementary School at around 5:30 a.m. where she waited for the opening of the voting precinct at 6 a.m.
The Electoral Board members started to accommodate voters at 6:02 a.m., with Reluya being the first in the queue.
Reluya’s was in the precinct for about five minutes.
She immediately left the area escorted by at least three security personnel.
In Sangat Elementary School, mayoral aspirant and businessman Ruben Feliciano casted his vote around 6:45 a.m.
He stayed in clustered precinct number 46, his assigned polling place, for about 10 minutes.
Feliciano said he is hopeful that the results of the polls will end with his victory.
However, he emphasized that he will accept the will of the people.
“I will accept the will of the people and I will not resort to violence because I am not a violent man,” Feliciano told the press in an interview after he voted. / celr
