Presyo Merkado: The three-ingredient biko recipe

By: Gerard Vincent Francisco - CDN Digital | December 19,2019 - 06:50 AM

CEBU CITY, Philippines — The traditional biko, the kind that your grandmother cooked when you were a child back in the province, only consists of three ingredients.

These are pilit (glutinous rice), coconut milk (expressed from grated coconut) and kinugay (muscovado sugar).

Louella Alix, host of CDN Digital’s Tastes of Cebu, prepared this comfort kakanin in one of our episodes.

At the Punta Princesa Public Market, biko served on a plate is sold at P10 per scoop. / celr
