Following a heavy downpour in the mountain barangay of Cebu City at dawn Friday, Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama suspends classes in a school located along Sapangdaku river.

Residents were caught by surprise with the strong water current in Sapangdaku river.

The Baksan Elementary school located along Sapangdaku river has 500 pupils.

The Local School Board will convene for emergency meeting this afternoon to identify an area where classes could be held pending relocation of the six to seven classroom-school.
